This study was conducted to examine the effects of Dialectical Behavior Therapy Music Therapy(DBTMT) on enhancing psychological well-being and ego-resilience of college students. The subjects of this study were 18 college students who voluntarily participated and scored under 60 points of RD, SD, C scales of Temperament and Character Inventory(TCI) test. Nine of them were randomly assigned to an experimental group and another 9 were assigned to a control group respectively. Participants in an experimental group received 2 hours DBTMT session every week for 10 weeks. We analyzed the differences of TCI test scores before and after sessions using SPSS WIN 18.0. We found two meaningful results regarding the effectiveness of DBTMT. First, the psychological well-being and its sub-components such as self-acceptance, positive interpersonal relationships, autonomy, environmental controls, purpose of life and personal growth were significantly improved in an experimental group after receiving 10 sessions of DBTMT. The second, the ego-resilience and its sub-components such as confidence, interpersonal effectiveness, optimistic attitude and anger management were also significantly improved. Therefore, we concluded that DBTMT was very effective in improving psychological well-being and ego-resilience of college students.
